of Attendance

COVID Policy: Disclaimer, Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk
By registering for an Americares Event (the “Event”), you acknowledge and represent that you have read these terms and conditions of attendance described below and agree that you will comply with them as a condition of admission and attendance. You also understand and agree that participation in the Event is entirely voluntary and requires attendees to abide by any applicable rules of conduct or local or state laws that may be announced at any time before or during the Event. Specifically relating to the global COVID-19 pandemic, attendee acknowledges the highly contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assumes the risk of exposure or infection by attending the Event and understands that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, disability, and/or death to attendee. You understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Event may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of others who may attend the Event or their families, colleagues, or others with whom they may have contact. Accordingly, you agree, on behalf of yourself, your heirs and your personal representatives, to fully and forever discharge, release, and covenant not to sue Americares, its directors, officers, employees, or agents (“Released Parties”) from any and all claims or liabilities you may have or hereinafter have in connection with the Event, whether caused by the negligence, actions, or omissions of the Released Parties or by any other reason.

Safety Requirements

In addition to all other rules and regulations relating to your attendance, you agree to comply with all COVID-related procedures that may be implemented. 

COVID-19 Protocols:  

Although Americares will not ask attendees to show proof of vaccination at the gala, we respectfully request that everyone be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters at the time of the event, for the health and safety of themselves and all attendees. Masks are encouraged, but not required. Please maintain physical distancing when possible. Please consider the following symptom screening questions prior to attending the event:  

  • Have you felt unwell or had any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours? (Symptoms: Fever (100.4 or greater), chills, sore throat, congestion, body aches, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.) 
  • Do you have any reason to believe you have recently been exposed to or acquired the COVID-19 infection?  
  • Have you tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 10 days?  

Americares COVID-19 event protocols are subject to change, as circumstances on the ground change.  

Release
BY ATTENDING THE EVENT, YOU AGREE THAT YOU VOLUNTARILY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL RISKS AND DANGERS THAT MAY OCCUR PURSUANT TO YOUR ATTENDANCE, INCLUDING THE RISK OF ILLNESS, INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. The opinions, statements, presentations, data, images, videos, documents and other information expressed or otherwise shared by presenters or other participants at the Event are for informational purposes only. The views and opinions expressed by presenters and other participants are not those of Americares, unless expressly indicated otherwise. Americares reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate in response to any violation of these terms of attendance, including immediate exclusion from the Event. It also reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future event, virtual , or in-person , of any person who violates these terms of attendance.

Media and Recording Policy Waiver
Americares may photograph or record part or all of the Event. By registering, you consent to being recorded during and in connection with the Event, and consent to the use or publication of such recordings, or your likeness therein, in connection with any promotional, educational or professional purposes of Americares.

Only authorized vendors and credentialed working journalists who are registered with Americares are permitted to video and/or audio-record any portion of the Event.

Attendees, including journalists and other members of the media, may not share or republish slides, unpublished data, or presentation materials without explicit written permission from Americares.

Anti-Harassment and Discrimination Policy
Americares has zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment against anyone regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, national origin or immigration status. Attendees must respect common-sense rules for public behavior and personal interaction. Be considerate and respectful of differing perspectives. If you are being harassed or notice an act of harassment, contact a conference staff member immediately.

Signature and Acknowledgement Form
By completion and submission of the Event registration form, I certify that I am at least eighteen (18) years of age and have read and fully understand and agree to be bound by the Event Terms and Conditions of Attendance and understand that it affects my legal rights. I agree and acknowledge that the waiver and release contained herein: (1) shall be binding on me, my heirs, family, estate, representatives, and assigns and (2) is intended to be as broad as permitted under applicable law, and each waiver or provision herein is severable and shall apply notwithstanding the invalidation of any other provision herein.
