Safeguarding Newborns Against AIDS in Malawi

  • December 1, 2011

“We work with an outstanding local partner, Malamulo Hospital, to help save lives and improve the quality of life of women and children living with the disease. I visited a woman with HIV/AIDS who participates in the Home- Based Care Program. Sitting on a mat on the floor of her hut, we listened to her current challenges. As the nurse gave her pain medications and therapeutic nutrition – I thought about how a little help goes a long way in a place like Malawi.”

—Elikem Tomety Archer, AmeriCares Director, Middle East & Africa Partnerships
