Stamford, Conn. – July 26, 2012 – AmeriCares has named Kevin Allan senior vice president of development in charge of the global health and disaster relief organization’s fundraising efforts. Allan joins AmeriCares after seven years with Changing Our World, an international philanthropy and fundraising consulting firm, where he served as senior managing director leading the company’s international aid consulting work.

In his new role, Allan will oversee all corporate, institutional and individual giving for AmeriCares, including special events such as the annual AmeriCares Airlift Benefit. His data analysis skills and extensive experience with personal and corporate philanthropic giving will help the 30-year-old aid organization create innovative new opportunities for growth.

“We are pleased to have Kevin Allan join our organization,” said AmeriCares President and CEO Curt Welling. “He is a dynamic and accomplished expert in the field of philanthropy who is dedicated to helping people in need across the globe.”

Allan previously headed development for the Stonewall Community Foundation and worked on an HIV prevention program in India.

“I am excited to join AmeriCares in improving health and saving lives all over the world,” Allan said. “I look forward to engaging and energizing the supporters who make our humanitarian aid work possible.”

Allan earned a bachelor’s degree from Manhattanville College and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from New School University, where he has taught a graduate course on fundraising and development. He currently resides in New York City.
