  • September 6, 2012

Stamford, Conn. – Sept. 6, 2012 – AmeriCares President and CEO Curt Welling will join a distinguished panel of judges for the Miss India Connecticut Pageant this Sunday, September 9, 2012, in New Haven, Connecticut. AmeriCares is proud to support the pageant and the winner will join the AmeriCares Airlift Benefit trip on Sept. 29, 2012 to see the Stamford-based organization’s aid programs in Guatemala. This year’s 24-hour trip will include visits to hospitals, clinics and social services agencies helped by AmeriCares.

“The Miss India Connecticut Pageant theme, ‘Unity in Diversity,’ resonates with AmeriCares,” Welling said. “We send aid to more than 90 countries around the world every year, including India, where we deliver medicines and supplies from our Mumbai office and warehouse.”

Entrants will compete for the title of Miss India Connecticut and a chance to participate in the Miss India USA pageant. Pageant organizer Anita Bhat, president & CEO of Diva America Inc., said about 1,400 people are expected to attend the 4 p.m. event at New Haven’s Shubert Theater.
