AmeriCares Airlift Benefit Raises More than $1.2 Million

  • October 3, 2012

Stamford, Conn. – The 25th annual AmeriCares Airlift Benefit “A Journey of Hope” raised more than $1.2 million for the organization’s relief efforts worldwide. The sold-out event attracted 750 guests on September 29, 2012, to the Panorama Hangar at Westchester County Airport. The highlight of the evening was the airlift to Guatemala. Seventy-five guests departed the gala on a chartered plane for a 24-hour whirlwind tour of the hospitals, clinics and homes for children and the elderly AmeriCares supports in Guatemala.

“The annual benefit gives supporters a glimpse of the immense need we see every day in the world’s poorest countries,” said AmeriCares President and CEO Curt Welling. “There is nothing more inspiring than seeing the impact of our aid deliveries firsthand. Our supporters come back energized and deeply committed to helping more people live longer, healthier lives.”
