McAllister Joins AmeriCares Board of Directors

Stamford, Conn. – February 11, 2013 – AmeriCares is pleased to announce Keith McAllister of Riverside, Conn., has been elected to its Board of Directors. McAllister brings to the board more than 25 years of experience in the news media including senior executive roles at CNN and Thomson Reuters. He also serves as chairman of the AmeriCares Media Advisory Committee.

A principal in the media consulting firm Upside Strategies, McAllister previously served as Executive Vice President and Managing Editor at CNN responsible for all U.S. news gathering operations, as General Manager of Consumer Media and Global Online Editor for Thomson Reuters, and as CEO of the Web-based advertising content provider Mochila.

The AmeriCares Board of Directors oversees all aspects of the organization’s humanitarian aid programs including its disaster response work and medical aid deliveries in the developing world. Last year alone, AmeriCares delivered enough medicines to treat 15 million people in 94 countries, including the United States where the charity supports health care for the uninsured and underinsured.
