Stamford, Conn. – May 22, 2013 – Medical aid and relief supplies from AmeriCares are arriving in Oklahoma to help survivors of the powerful tornado that tore through the suburbs of Oklahoma City on Monday, killing and injuring dozens and flattening homes and businesses in its 17-mile path.
“We delivered medicine, water and urgently needed relief supplies in the first 48 hours and more aid is on the way,” said Garrett Ingoglia, AmeriCares vice president of emergency response. “Our disaster response team on the ground is working directly with community organizations and local health care providers to meet the immediate needs of injured and displaced survivors.”
