Stamford, Conn. – Oct. 6, 2015 – The AmeriCares Airlift Benefit on Oct. 3, 2015, raised a record $2.6 million for the emergency response and global health organization’s work in more than 90 countries. AmeriCares Ambassador Tony Goldwyn was the special guest and Erica Hill, co-anchor of Weekend TODAY and national correspondent for NBC News, served as Master of Ceremonies. Goldwyn, star of ABC’s Scandal, spoke about his 20-year involvement with the charity and urged supporters in the room and his fans following the event on social media to give generously.
“Over the years, we’ve seen time after time how this willingness to step up, respond to crises and help people rebuild their lives is baked into the DNA of this extraordinary organization,” Goldwyn said. “Together, we will respond to crises. Together, we will help communities recover and together, we will transform the future for millions of people.”
