Stamford, Conn. May 18, 2016 – AmeriCares, the emergency response and global health organization, has welcomed Christine Squires as its Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer. In her new role, Squires will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on tactical execution of fundraising efforts for AmeriCares health programs worldwide. She will be responsible for all corporate, foundation and individual giving, including more than $500 million in annual product donations from pharmaceutical and medical supply companies.

“Christine will be an invaluable asset to AmeriCares. Her strong track record of raising revenue, building relationships and leading national fundraising campaigns will help take our organization to the next level,” said AmeriCares President and CEO Michael J. Nyenhuis. “We’re confident that her understanding of global health and human development will allow her to make an immediate impact, and we are excited to have her join our senior leadership team.”

Squires brings to AmeriCares nearly 20 years of senior development and outreach experience. She previously served as chief operating officer at Physicians for Human Rights, where she oversaw all of the organization’s global development and strategic planning efforts. Squires also headed up growth and fundraising for Human Rights Watch and spent 10 years at the United States Fund for UNICEF.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a stellar organization,” Squires said. “I look forward to continuing to grow our resources so we can provide more health services and relief for people in need.”

Squires holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Delaware and is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership’s Executive Development Program. She lives in Brooklyn, N.Y., with her husband and daughter.
