Northrop Grumman is one of Americares longest standing and most dedicated partners, having joined us in our work to provide health and opportunity worldwide in 1998. Since then, we have worked hand-in-hand to respond to some of the world’s most severe emergencies.
Northrop Grumman and the Northrop Grumman Foundation’s support has assisted Americares’s responses to many emergencies over the years. Specifically, their contributions have assisted with our Aid to U.S. Terrorist Victims Fund, which was established after 9/11. In addition, they have helped us provide support for earthquake victims in South Asia (2005), Haiti (2010), and the Pacific (2011). Most recently, they acted quickly, helping us provide critical relief for the 2017 hurricanes.
Northrop Grumman is an Americares Emergency Response Partner, providing key resources that allow us to maintain a response platform of medicines, supplies and people. In the wake of an emergency, our relief workers are among the first to arrive and the last to leave, focusing on both short-term relief and long-term restoration of health services and systems. Working in close partnership with affected communities, we stay on to rebuild health care systems and put disaster risk reduction measures in place, making them less vulnerable to the next disaster.
“We are very pleased to be able to build upon our established partnership by joining the Americares Emergency Response Partner program,” said Carleen Beste, Director of Global Corporate Citizenship for Northrop Grumman. “Supporting Americares ability to prepare for and respond swiftly and effectively to disaster events around the world is critical in getting supplies and resources to those most in need.”
