Headquartered just down the road from Americares in Stamford, Connecticut, the Odyssey Group has been a strategic partner since 2007. Its Foundation is one of the largest supporters of Americares free clinics in Connecticut as well as a key partner in responding to emergencies and providing health programs around the globe.
Odyssey has proudly supported a distinctively broad range of Americares programs, helping to provide clinical services and disaster responses both near and far. Their support has included: funding for Mobile Health Centers that provide free clinical services and community health to over 100,000 people living in the slums of Mumbai, India; start-up capital for Americares Free Clinics here in the Connecticut; both general and targeted emergency response aid. In addition, Odyssey staff have dedicated their time to assemble emergency kits here in our Stamford, CT warehouse.
Odyssey is an Americares Emergency Response Partner, providing key resources that allow us to maintain a response platform of medicines, supplies and people—ready to respond in a moment’s notice. Even prior to joining the AERP, the Company was a key partner in international disaster relief efforts. With Odyssey’s swift and generous response to the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Americares was able to quickly airlift and distribute medicines and relief supplies to severely damaged health facilities.
Through their leadership support of Americares Free Clinics, Odyssey is helping to provide uninsured and underinsured Connecticut residents with comprehensive health care. The company initially championed Americares Free Clinics in Norwalk and Bridgeport, Connecticut, and was an early proponent of establishing a new mobile clinic to serve low-income, uninsured Stamford residents.
