Stamford, Conn. – March 29, 2025 – Americares is deploying an emergency response team to Thailand to respond to the deadly 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar yesterday, which has killed at least 1,600 people and injured thousands more, according to local officials. The powerful quake was also felt in Thailand, where it toppled a skyscraper that was under construction in Bangkok, claiming several lives and trapping others under the rubble. The death toll is expected to rise as search and rescue operations continue.
